    2010 Display

This year we went from the 2 wireless Mr. Christmas machines to a 48 channel Light-O-Rama system

With the 48 channels we now have the ability to connect our lights to individual channels and turn them on as needed. We are now truly capable of synching our lights to music and in total control of them.

We started with only 6 songs that are listed above and had a blast programming the songs as each song takes about a month to put together while as it is around 8 hours per minute of song and each sing is roughly 4 minutes.

This was all powered by around 2000 feet of extension chords and most would think this would create for a massive power bill but because the lights are synched to music they are really only each on a small amount of time. We also use LED for the majority of our lights and only consumes around 2400 watts or 20 amps of power to light them all at once. We find that just 1 strand of 300 irridescent is around 120watts on it's own giving only around 18 strands of icicles to match it. You'll notice I had 49 of those alone and at no time did I pop the circuit breaker due to overload only rain and snow this year kept the lights on the ground for getting power.

This year we had over 27,000 lights, and here is what all it included.

Icicles -- Includes white, blue, multi-colored, and orange

    49 Strings of 25 to 100 bulbls

White Lights -- Well we have lots of these, we put them on everything, the walls, ground, even the 4 arches are covered in white lights.

29 strands on the front walls of the house of 35 or 50 lights each.

75 Candy canes filled with 20 lights each.

18 strands on the ground at 60 lights per strand

The 4 hand wrapped arches of around 18 more 100 bulbs each.

Orange lights -- Yeah we had orange lights and they weren't just left over from Halloween. They worked well with a song for our great BSU Broncos.

16 strands of 60 on the spiral trees.

25 strands of 60 on the ground

43 strands of 35 and 50 on the 2 arches.

23 more around the borders on the walls of 35 and 50 lights each

    4 multi colored spiral trees

26 multi-colored candy canes with 20 lights each

23 Blue lights on both the ground and spiral trees of 50 to 100 each.

26 Red strands of 35 to 60 on the spiral trees, ground, and on the 2 arches with red lights.

7 green strands on the spiral trees of 50

    18 rope lights of 54

That pretty much covers all the light strands we also have a few others

    3 angels

    6 reindeer in the lawn

    Log Cabin

    Mr and Mrs Santa Clause

    Giant horse and carriage

    St. Bernard and sleigh

Blow mold manger scene including my hand built manger

Large blow-up santa, snowman, and globe

    giant Merry Christmas sign

and what Christmas display isn't complete without Santa and his reindeer on the roof.

Enjoy the show and wait till next year as we added another 48 channels.

    Merry Christmas,

    The Schmidt's
